God's Plan of Salvation

What does God's Word say about getting to Heaven?

God's Simple Plan of Salvation

There is GREAT NEWS! The Bible tells how you can KNOW 100% for sure where you will go when you die.

“These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.” – I John 5:13

Many people try to do “good” things to obtain salvation. Good works, religion, church attendance, baptism or any other “good” deed will only leave you falling short of eternal life in Heaven.

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God; Not of works, lest any man should boast.” – Ephesians 2:8-9

“And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.” – Romans 11:6

According to the Bible, there is only one way to Heaven, Jesus and Jesus alone!

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” – John 14:6

So, how can you receive eternal life through Jesus Christ?

First, accept that you are a sinner.

“As it is written, there is none righteous, no, not one.” – Romans 3:10

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” – Romans 3:23

Our sins have separated us from God. Before Jesus will become your Saviour and give you eternal life in Heaven, you must first know and accept that you are a sinner and are in need of Him to save you.

Second, agree that your sin must be paid for with death and hell.

“For the wages of sin is death…” – Romans 6:23a

“And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” – Revelation 20:14-15

According to God’s Word, we are all sinners, and our sin must be paid for. If we fail to trust Christ in this life, we will die without Him and spend eternity separated from God in a literal lake of fire called “hell.”

Third, believe that Jesus died for your sins and then rose again.

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” – Romans 5:8

The best news that anyone could ever tell you is that God loves you and Jesus died for you. All our sins were laid on Him. He paid our sin debt in full. It does not matter what sin you have committed, Jesus died to pay for ALL your sin.

He then overcame the power of death by coming back to life as He promised.

“He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee, Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified and the third day rise again.” – Luke 24:6-7

Fourth, repent of your sin and receive His gift of Heaven.

“…but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” – Romans 6:23b

You can believe that God loves you. You can believe that you are a sinner and that sin must be paid for, but if you are not willing to trust God by receiving that free gift of eternal life in Heaven, you will die without Christ.

Last, trust Christ alone as your personal Saviour.

“…behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.” – II Corinthians 6:2b

JESUS WANTS TO SAVE YOU THIS VERY MOMENT!

“…not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” – II Peter 3:9c

Let us review for a moment.

  • Do you accept that you are a sinner?

  • Do you agree with the Bible that sin must be paid for?

  • Do you believe that Christ died for you, then rose from the dead?

  • Do you see that you must turn from your sin and trust Christ alone to be your personal Saviour?

You can trust Christ right now.

God promises, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. – Romans 10:9

“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. ” – Romans 10:13

Would you pray, put your faith in Christ alone, and ask the Lord to save you? Just say, “Lord, I admit that I am a sinner. I don’t deserve to go to Heaven, but I believe that you sent your Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, to die on the cross for my sin. I trust Him, and Him alone to forgive my sin, to become my Saviour, and to take me to Heaven when I die. Thank you for saving me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

If you prayed that prayer and received Christ as your Saviour, would you let us know? You can call or email to tell us. We would love to rejoice with you on making the greatest decision a person could ever make, receiving Jesus Christ as Saviour!

Baptism

Now that you are saved, what do you do?

Acts 2:41-47

41Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.
42And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
43And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.
44And all that believed were together, and had all things common;
45And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.
46And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,
47Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.“

Baptism Explained

1. What is Baptism?

2.Baptism is a witness to the world of our faith in the atoning work of Christ.
Acts 8:36 “And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?
37 And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.”
b. Baptism identifies us with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection.
Romans 6:3 “Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in
newness of life.”

3. Why should I be Baptized?

4. Because it fulfills righteousness – Matthew 3:15 “And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness.
Then he suffered him.”
b. Because Jesus commanded it – Matthew 28:19 “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”
c. Because the early Church did it – Acts 2:41 “Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand
souls.
42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.”

5.Who should be Baptized?

6. Baptism is only for Believers – Acts 8:37 And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
Acts 16:30 “And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?
31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
32 And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house.
33 And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway.
34 And when he had brought them into his house, he set meat before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house.
Note: No where in scripture do we find babies being baptized! Only Believers!
b. Always after Faith:
Believers at Pentecost – After Faith Acts 2:41 “Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.
Ethiopian Eunuch…After Faith – Acts 8:38 “And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.
Paul…After Faith – Acts 9:18 “And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized.

Cornelius…After Faith – Acts 10:48 “And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.
Philippian Jailor…After Faith – Acts 16:33 “And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway.

7. How should I get Baptized?

The Bible teaches Baptism by immersion only:
a. Because of the very word used – The Greek word “baptizo” means “to dip, to plunge under, to submerge.”
b. Because of the scriptural expressions used:
1. “Much water” – John 3:23 “And John also was baptizing in Aenon near to Salim, because there was much water there: and they came, and were baptized
2. “down both into the water” – Acts 8:38 “And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.
3. “coming up out of the water” – Mark 1:10 “And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him:

8. Is Baptism a sacrament?

No, the word sacrament means “ Saving value”

Baptism has no saving value. You must be saved by faith first, than you witness of that faith in Christ’s work of Salvation through Baptism.
b. Baptism does not wash away sin, even so called “Original Sin”, only the blood of Jesus can cleanse sin. 1 Peter 1:18 “Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;
19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
c. Baptism is one of the two ordinances given by scripture; the other is the Lord’s Supper or Communion.
